Agapé † Kure Beach Ministries'
Covid-19 Update

Updated 8/16/2021

Dear Friends of Agapé † Kure Beach Ministries,

By now we all thought we would be past COVID-19 and its dangerous spread. Unfortunately, we are not! As a ministry, it is our responsibility to care for ourselves and each other. In love and care for others, we continue to place the health and safety of our guests as one of our major organizational goals.

For that reason, all staff you encounter at A†KB ministries are fully vaccinated to protect themselves and others. We know many we serve are too young to receive the vaccine and it is our desire to care for them in the safest way we can.

We continue to do extra disinfecting indoors, and provide enhanced hand sanitizing in our facilities. Staff are currently wearing masks when indoors, and whenever encountering others outdoors, even among those vaccinated. We encourage all guests to do the same as the CDC has recommended. For those who are unvaccinated, it is mandatory to wear masks at all times on either site for the safety of others. We ask our guests and staff to continually monitor their personal health and to self-isolate when not feeling well.

Using these methods, we had a safe summer camp experience for nearly 500 campers. What a joy to hear the sounds of campers and staff building faith-based relationships and simply having fun!

Camp Agapé is once again open to families and individuals for social distance hiking on our 12 plus miles of marked trails through the wonders of God’s Creation. Join us if you can.

Both the Kure Beach Faith Center and the facilities of Camp Agapé are open to receiving guest groups. Contact camp today about bringing your group out for fun, fellowship, future planning, crafting, family events, campground stays or the adventures of the ACE education program.

We pray for the health and safety of all in our churches, communities, country, and the people of God globally. “Fear not little flock” Luke 12:32

Your Servant in Christ,

Prayer:  As together in community we face a time when we need perspective.

For a pandemic
May we who are merely inconvenienced
Remember those whose lives are at stake.
May we who have no risk factors
Remember those most vulnerable.
May we who have the luxury
of working from home
Remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent.
May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close
Remember those who have no options.
May we who have to cancel our trips
Remember those who have no safe place to go.
May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market
Remember those who have no margin at all.
May we who settle in for a quarantine at home
Remember those who have no home.
As fear grips our country,
Let us choose love.
During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other, let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors. Amen. -- Cameron Bellm
